Congratulations, you are almost there, no longer a Calgary First Time Home Buyer, you will now be a first time home owner!

Preparing for and adjusting to your new Calgary home takes time. Depending on your previous living situation, you may be introduced to new responsibilities previously managed by someone else.
You should take some time to ensure you are not in a compromised situation when moving in to your new Calgary home.

Things to Consider

  • Make sure you have your mail forwarded and you know where your mail will be delivered. You may have to get a key and go to a mail box station a block or two away from your home. This may be an inconvenient experience for those used to getting their mail delivered to your door.
  • Know the garbage pick-up schedule and be sure you have bins set up to keep your garbage securely contained in between pick-ups.
  • Be sure you have cleaners and household paper products before you move in. Be sure you have extra light bulbs and fuses (if required) as well.
  • You may have to purchase lawn care tools, hoses, and snow removal equipment if your moving info a house from an apartment or condo.
  • Your lifestyle will undoubtedly change when moving into a new home. Careful consideration and preparation will ensure you have everything you need.
